Description*

Created to address a woman’s specific nutritional needs, Balanced Omega combines 500 mg omega-3 fish oil with 76 mg gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) from Evening Primrose oil (EPO). Evening primrose is a wildflower native to North America, and its known to contain a high concentration of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) in its seeds. 

Evening Primrose Oil’s health supportive benefits are likely due to its GLA content. GLA is an omega-6 fatty acid found in plant oils, that is different from most other forms of Omega 6 fats. In the body, GLA converts into an important anti-inflammatory molecule called prostaglandin E1, which is a smooth muscle relaxant and vasodilator. This means it helps relax blood vessels to support healthy blood flow and circulation. 

Some clinical research shows that EPO supports healthy skin, while other studies explored its use for Women’s Health.  The skin research concluded that GLA is necessary for ideal skin structure and function and because the skin can’t produce GLA on its own, it is thought that taking GLA-rich evening primrose oil helps keep the skin healthy overall.

It is recommended that this formula be taken in conjunction with an Omega-3 (Pro Omega link) product to reach a therapeutic dose of Omega-3 EPA+DHA.
